When it comes to the best graphics card, there is only one GPU that comes to mind, and that is the RTX 5090. There isn’t anything that this card can’t handle, but it comes at a very steep price. However, we spotted multiple variants on sale on Newegg, and one of them was the MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC.

This GPU has been knocked down by $650 or 21% from its original price of $3,049.99 and is available for $2,399.99, but what makes this deal even more appealing is that you’ll get a free copy of Borderlands 4 with this purchase. So, you’ll get a solid 4K gaming graphics card perfect to enjoy the next installment in the Borderlands franchise with maxed out graphics.

MSI RTX 5090 GAMING TRIO OC

MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC performance

We haven’t tested this variant of the RTX 5090, but to give you an idea of what this GPU can do, we’ll showcase the real-world performance benchmarks of the MSI RTX 5090 Suprim SOC that we’ve reviewed.

Gaming

We coupled this GPU with the best gaming processor, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and got the following results. 149 FPS in AC: Mirage at 4K, 110 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077, 135 FPS in F1 24, and 311 FPS in Counter-Strike 2. So, this card had no issues handling native 4K gaming, but that isn’t surprising given it is the flagship of the RTX 50-series lineup. That being said, we decided to push its limits by turning on ray tracing overdrive in Cyberpunk 2077 and saw the FPS drop to 33, which is impressive in and of itself.

However, by leveraging DLSS 4 (performance) with MFG (4X), the FPS shot up to an incredible 293 FPS, and that should tell you everything you need to know about what this GPU is capable of.

Synthetic

Just like its gaming performance, the RTX 5090 blew through all the synthetic tests that we put in front of it. We got 7,404 points in Blender Monster and 388,892 and 385,354 points in the Geekbench 6 OpenCL and Vulkan tests, respectively. No other card could even come close to the output of the RTX 5090; however, in the Geekbench AI test, the RX 9070 XT churned out 30,662 points in the quantized test while the 5090 churned out 35,090 points.

So, this was the closest any card has been to it, but even then, there was a huge gap, and for all intents and purposes, this GPU is untouchable.

Who’s this GPU for?

For anyone who isn’t concerned about the price tag and wants to experience what extreme performance looks like, should seriously check out this deal. The RTX 5090 is a card like none other, and we found that out in our review. While third-party variants can easily touch the $3,000 mark, its MSRP is $1,9990, but it is very difficult to grab one at that. So, with this offer, you won’t have to spend nearly as much for it beyond its MSRP, and it should be a worthwhile investment given its performance.
