2024 was a fantastic year for AMD. The company had successful product launches, strong sales, and gained more happy customers. Meanwhile, Intel had some trouble. Earlier this year, the company faced issues with 13th and 14th-gen CPUs, and their Core Ultra 200S series also failed to impress consumers. AMD, on the other hand, stole the spotlight with their 9800X3D, which quickly became one of the best gaming processors in the market. And now, sales data from Amazon US has confirmed that AMD finished the year strong.
Amazon US CPU sales numbers for December 2024
TechEpiphany, a reliable tech data source, shared the Amazon US CPU sales numbers for December 2024 on X (formerly Twitter). According to the data, AMD sold a total of 63,100 CPUs in December 2024, while Intel sold only 19,300 CPUs. In other words, AMD outshined its competitor by selling 43,800 more processors. The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D was the top-selling CPU of the month, with 8,000 units sold. On the other hand, Intel’s best-selling CPU was the 12700K, which sold only 3,000 units.
While TechEpiphany mentioned there could be slight errors in the numbers, the overall picture is clear: AMD is winning the CPU sales race. In any case, these were the top 10 most sold CPUs on Amazon US in December 2024:
Rank | CPU | Units Sold |
1 | Ryzen 7 5700X3D | 8,000 |

Fans are currently looking forward to the next X3D CPUs, the 9900X3D and 9950X3D, which are also expected to be a hit.
