RX 9070 XT Steel Legend
The Steel Legend RX 9070 XT. While we haven’t tested this variant, we have put the ASUS Prime RX 9070 XT through its paces and delivered exceptional performance. We got 61 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K, 101 FPS in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and 228 FPS in Doom Eternal.
Even with ray tracing turned to overdrive mode, this GPU was able to churn out 68 FPS with FSR 4, whereas before leveraging this technology, the FPS had dropped to 9. This is a massive 153% increment, meaning that if there is any title giving you trouble at native 4K, you can use FSR 4 to get higher and stable FPS.
X870 Steel Legend
In our ASRock X870 Steel Legend review, we paired the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the RTX 3090 with this board serving as the foundation. In CS2, we got 585 FPS with an average PPT of 57.9W. In Cyberpunk 2077, we got 226 FPS with a 66.9W PPT. For comparison, the MSI X870E Godlike, which is an insanely expensive motherboard, delivered 643 and 229 FPS, respectively.
There wasn’t a huge different in PPT as well so the X870 Steel Legend, a mainboard that has a budget price tag, performed much better than the enthusiast level X870E mootherboard. So, rest assured, whichever Ryzen processor you pair it with, you should get a smooth and stable performance.
SL-850GE Steel Legend
To tie it all together, this 3-in-1 ASRock bundle comes with the SL-850GW power supply unit which has an 80 Plus Gold and Cybenetics Platinum rating. It is also an ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 PSU, meaning it should fit perfectly with all the latest graphics cards. So, taking into account the power draw of the RX 9070 XT and if you were to pair it with the Ryzen 9 9950X, it would total to 474W (304W + 170W) and with the other components added to the equation, you should still have plenty of overhead for overclocking.
Is this bundle worth it?
We think that this bundle is worth the price as all of these components deliver excellent value for money and the RX 9070 XT is capable of punching a bit above its weight class. We also saw the X870 Steel Legend motherboard performing closely to an X870E motherboard and the 850W PSU should ensure that every components gets the power it needs.
