See ya, suckers – I’m off to India for a week, and am only writing this introductory paragraph because Ollie stole my ‘taking holiday’ idea while I was distracted by a bird. Specifically, I’ll be in Dharamshala, the mountain town where the Dalai Lama lives. Maybe I’ll get to ask him what he thinks of my Steam Deck.

My Silent Hill f playthrough was rudely interrupted by Battlefield 6 – I might return to that. I’m enjoying it, but I need to fell a boss with an annoying puzzle element. Sorely tempted to drop the difficulty. Silent Hill f aside, I’m in the mood for adventurous and not necessarily scary games about spiders, and spiderishness – any suggestions?

Now that my missus and I have moved into our own abode, the thing that I will be playing this weekend is “Unpacking Desktop Computer From Boxes and Sticking My GPU Back In,” a very exciting game that may also involve clearing my PC of dust and removing crumbs and dog hair from my keyboard while I’m at it. I’ve had to survive solely on my Steam Deck for work stuff the last week, and while it’s been fine and dandy, I need me a proper desktop, dagnabbit.
Ollie
More like No-llie.
Callum, for whom we still haven’t done a proper welcoming post (sorry Callum)
This entire weekend fully hinges on whether I let the darkness win. On the one hand, I’ve been loading my Steam cart with nifty little horror games to try out, namely CloverPit, House of Necrosis, and It Has My Face. But I can also feel it. The hunger. The need. A sweetly seductive whisper luring me into the jaws of temptation itself. I locked eyes with XCOM 2 in my library the other day, and I felt it speak to me like the Green Goblin mask, goading me into watching a squad of hapless soldiers get melted into piles of goop after my decorated captain misses a flanking shot with a 98% hit chance. What was that? Now is the perfect time to start another 70-hour Ironman run? Well, if you insist…

More like No…c. More like Noc.

I still haven’t returned to Hades 2, following its 1.0 launch, so will be rectifying that forthwith. Though I admit I only remembered this time because Edwin asked about good game spiders, and I still prefer meeting Arachne to any of those overpreened bums in the actual Greek pantheon.

Shhhhhhh. Embargoed review thing here. Yackings about it coming soon.
And you, reader dear, what are you playing this weekend?…
