Plan your Dan Trachtenberg marathon for early 2026
Predator: Badlands lands in theaters on Nov. 7, bringing the Predator franchise back to the big screen for the first time since Shane Black’s The Predator in 2018. The death planet of Genna looks great on the big screen, as do the hungry monsters our young Yautja Dek (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) must fight to survive. Even better, you don’t need to have watched any previous Alien or Predator films to go see it now. But if you want to wait to hold a Predator marathon with Predator: Badlands director Dan Trachtenberg’s two Hulu originals, Prey and Predator: Killer of Killers, here’s our best guess for when you’ll be able to watch Predator: Badlands in your living room.
When will Predator: Badlands be available to rent or purchase digitally?
We expect that Predator: Badlands will follow the patterns of its sibling franchise, Alien. 20th Century Studios brought Alien: Romulus to VOD two months after the film burst into theaters. Disney, which owns 20th Century Studios, keeps to a similar release schedule so that still seems like a safe bet even though Badlands’ PG-13 rating gives it access to a wider audience than Romulus. That means Predator: Badlands will probably appear on VOD in early January 2026.
When will Predator: Badlands be available on Blu-ray/DVD?
20th Century Studios didn’t deliver a physical version of Alien: Romulus until a month and a half after its streaming debut. Disney tends to work a bit faster, waiting about three to four weeks between the digital and physical releases for Thunderbolts* and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. We’ll split the difference and guess that you’ll be able to own Predator: Badlands by mid-February 2026.
When will Predator: Badlands be available to stream on Hulu?
Alien: Romulus arrived on Hulu about three months after its theatrical release, which is the same timeline that Disney uses for its tentpole films. Since Hulu is the home of the rest of the Alien and Predator franchises, Predator: Badlands will likely arrive there in early February 2026. However, given the film’s PG-13 rating and the fact that Disney is in the process of folding Hulu into Disney Plus, there is a possibility that Predator: Badlands will go directly to Disney Plus instead.
